Wicks need to be centered in candles to ensure an even burn right down to the base. If a wick is lopsided, then container candles will splutter and soot as the wick gets closer to the container walls. Centering wicks can be done by eye but, it’s much easier with these handy little Bow Tie devices that allow you to keep the wick centred!
